Reggae Month’s Spotlight Artist

Yashema McLeod’s Style of music is a cross between Reggae, RnB and Soul. Her warm soothing tone comes across in each of her songs with great emotion.  2011 was the year that saw Yashema McLeod launch her music career. She began recording for Stingray Records, one of the largest Record Labels of Reggae Music in the UK with over 20 years experience in   the Music business.

Yashema continues to work with Stingray Records and her latest singles “Revelation Time” and “Cry No More” Produced by Carlton ‘Dillie’ McLeod and “Dem Don’t Know” Produced by Don Richie Recording Production was released in 2019. Her Most recent works saw the release of her Debut Album “Awakening” Produced by Carlton ‘Dillie’ McLeod on 13th November 2020. Tracks like “I’m Just a Girl”, “Ooh La La’’and“Prophecy”are featured on the Album. Her songs are a combination of Reggae, Lovers, Roots, Spiritual and Inspirational.

Yashema has performed on some of the biggest stages and Reggae Concerts In the UK.  She has shared the stage with the likes of Morgan Heritage and Marcia Griffiths. Jul 2013 (Bingley Hall, Birmingham).

The Legendary Freddie McGregor, Johnny Osbourne, Terry Linen, Romain Virgo & Christopher Martin on the Reggae Valentines Showcase Tour. History was made throughout the tour as all artists joined each other on stage for the grand finale song “One Love”. Feb 2015 (Manchester Academy, Manchester, Bingley Hall, Birmingham & Eventim Apollo, London).

Chronixx and the Zincfence, Claire Angel. On The Chronixx and Zincfence redemption tour, May 2017 (O2 Academy, Birmingham),

Luciano “ The messenger” on the Derby Caribbean Carnival. 15th Jul 2018 (Osmaston Park, Derby).

Her most recent Performance saw her share the stage with the Legendary Beres Hammond and Sanchez, On the Giants of reggae tour. Aug 2018. (O2 Academy, Birmingham).

Yashema recently visited LA in April 2016 as she gained recognition for her Single “Oh Me Oh My” released by Heavy Beat Records (July 2015). Yashema won an Award for the Best Reggae Song for February 2016. This is the first of many Awards and a great achievement.

Yashema continues to work on her music career not only working with Stingray Records but also with other producers.
